Lockton will once again be returning to the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace in August, as a Gold sponsor of the UK's finest Concours D 'Elegance, where some of the world's most spectacular motor cars are joined by a variety of the leading luxury brands and all accompanied by fine dining to give guests an experience that we think is unmatched.
Our history with Salon Privé stretches back to their very first event, held in 2006 at The Hurlingham Club and we have been proud to be sponsors since 2020, hosting guests in the Lockton Driver's Lounge, situated immediately adjacent to the main stage.
This gives our guests a prime viewing area, where they can relax and enjoy a drink in comfort and even sit outside on our terrace whilst watching the most amazing cars take to the podium.
The cars are undoubtedly the stars of the show and Salon Privé can boast a highly eclectic display every year, combining past masterpieces with the latest offerings from a variety of manufacturers, including launches of brand-new models – there can only be a handful of other events in the world where you will see cars such as Ferrari's legendary 250 GTO sharing the spotlight with new models using hybrid technology to hint at the future.
The event takes place between Wednesday 30th August and Saturday 2nd September. The first two days host the Concours D 'Elegance, judged by a panel of ICJAG judges - 2022 saw the magnificent Ferrari 250 GT TdF Berlinetta by Zagato take the award for Best of Show, with the quality of the entrants across all categories being truly world class.
Friday is traditionally Ladies' Day. Lockton hosts up to 100 guests, who can see all of the previous two days' winners show off their silverware and parade the winning cars, together with a wide selection of brand-new sports, super and hyper cars making their way across the stage. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest, with a prize being awarded for the best hat.
With hundreds of cars taking their place and making for a spectacular display of both colour and horsepower across the lawns and Great Court of Blenheim, the highlight of Salon Privé for Lockton is Club Trophy Day. Taking place this year on Saturday, Lockton are once again the proud sponsors of this prestigious club competition.
Each competing club will select two cars for the Manufacturer's and Secretary's Awards and they are all then judged to see who will win the overall Club Trophy. Last year's winner was a Ferrari 308 GTS, restored to a level not seen on the model before and we hope that the owner will return to Blenheim to display the car on the Lockton stand for guests to see on Saturday, along with other previous Club Trophy winners.
As the event is closing on Saturday, we will see all the clubs coming together. This means that the single marque clubs will be joined by those celebrating multiple car makes and types – if you love cars, then this is a day not to miss!
Last year, we were privileged to display The Shurlock Collection. The five Ferrari “F-Cars” drew the crowds for much of the event. 2023 sees a number of iconic cars celebrating anniversaries and we already have plans to create another visually stunning automotive centrepiece.
