Whilst the insurance industry is one dominated by numbers but it's not the only way. Here at Lockton, we firmly believe that this should not be the case when looking after our clients. PorscheMeirion was the latest event where our team got to enjoy some social time with clients, sharing our love for great vehicles.

Lockton has partnered with PCGB for almost ten years as their official insurance broker and mid-May saw members and their cars head to North Wales for a day of all things Porsche with live entertainment and great food. PorscheMeirion promised to be a very good day out indeed.

Portmeirion is the Italian-styled fantasy village made famous in the 1960s TV show The Prisoner, starring Patrick McGoohan. The brightly coloured buildings perched on the cliffs near Porthmadog with narrow streets and beautiful landscaping remain a popular tourist attraction, setting a vibrant scene for a day dedicated to celebrating the iconic manufacturer.

Sunday 15th May saw hundreds of Porsches travel to Wales, filling both the visitor car park and the streets and squares of Portmeirion, adding even more colour, not to mention sound to this already buzzing setting.

PCGB members were treated to food from around the world, live entertainers, a brass band, and workshops including how to improve photography skills. There was even a dancing robot in the gardens and legendary Porsche racing driver Richard Attwood was on hand to meet owners and sign autographs in Hercules Hall in the village centre, converted to the PCGB clubhouse for the day.

Drivers were given the opportunity to sample racetracks from around the world courtesy of Pirelli who brought their simulator and to cap everything off, the weather remained fine and dry throughout.

The Lockton team attended in a 2020 Porsche 911 and, having thoroughly enjoyed the amazing roads taking you to Wales, spent the day meeting other Porsche owners who had made the journey from all corners of the country.

As usual, PCGB and their members thoroughly enjoyed the day and almost every model you can think of was on display, from the earliest cars through to the current model range brought to Wales by Porsche GB.

The event was rounded off with a parade through the winding streets of the village, treating visitors to the sight and sound of some of the most iconic cars ever made.
